Sony DCR-SR42 30GB Handycam Camcorder Review

When looking for a video camera, we really wanted something small and compact and of course quality. After looking for a good two months, we decided to get the Sony Hard Drive Camcorder. The picture quality is fantastic and very crisp. It also takes excellent video in darker environments. They make the camera in 30 gig, 40 ( Sr42a ) , 60 ( sr60 ) and 80- gig ( sr80 ).
The pricing starts at $499.00 for the 30 gig model ( sr42 ). 30 gigs is plenty of storage, and uploading the photos to your computer hard drive is a snap. The camera also takes digital pictures, but I would recommend getting a separate camera to take photos.

You need a computer which you can burn DVD'S onto. This allows you to edit the video and only burn what you want to. The One touch Disc Burn makes it real east to copy your footage using the software Sony gives you.

My wife and I really loves this camera, the quality is superb and the image quality is what we were looking for when taking the precious videos of our twin girls. As a first time owner of a video camera, Sony did a great job with their Image Stabilization system. At least now when we watch it back on the TV, we can enjoy the clear stable videos.

We have a 50 inch plasma where we play back the videos ans the quality of the video on screen is excellent. At first I was worried it may be distorted. I was wrong, and the quality was excellent.
